The Fear

I was recently talking to a friend at PVC who remarked that great artists or entrepreneurs are only different from the average person in that they don’t hesitate to try new ideas. Don’t be afraid, you have very little to lose.

Failure is inevitable and you will fail more than succeed, but eventually if you keep launching, you’ll triumph, no doubt at all.

People like me who are relentless in the pursuit of a freedom lifestyle know this.

Innovation and the quiet coffee house revolution happening in Oswestry, England

On that note we recently set up a monthly  independent cafe night-time get together in our small town of Oswestry as a space to incubate innovative new ideas that can benefit the whole community.

I personally like the association with Cafe Society and coffee shop revolution, so when Saffron at Radio suggested we host a meeting  for innovators with a nod to digital culture I was immediately hooked on the idea, especially since Jeremy had proposed super-connecting tech and ‘net savvy people in the locality.

Jez came up with a neat brand and message:

Interference is a new meetup for anyone involved or interested in the Digital Economy & Arts. Come together, be interested, be interesting, be disruptive!

What intrigues me is the synergy and energy created when the Internet meets local culture and in doing so enhances the local economy in a tangible way. That’s when The New Rich Lifestyles are created and anything, anything can happen.

Oswestry has its own unique identity; apparently it has a slightly Internet-shy population at odds with an incredibly high concentration of creative people.

Innovative Oswestry

Take a few people with ideas, get them face to face to form a  ‘hub’ , then plug a town into that same hub, connected to that small group of people in a Cafe by the Internet.  BOOM.
